Alligators of all sizes, capybaras complete the photographic safaris. From December to April is the flood season when the rivers overflow and spread themselves for miles uniting with the bays and creeks creating a true ocean of sweet water. This is the period of Pantaneira flora, the green explodes and gives breeding ground for flora and water-loving fauna. The Mato Grosso Pantanal is located in Mid-Western Brazil, an estimated area of 230,000 square kilometers, extending itself to Mato Grosso do Sul, Bolivia and Paraguay. Considered the largest ecological reserve of the Americas, the Pantanal presents its annual season, the flood season and the dry season. During the flood season the temperatures soar until 38oC pleasanter varying from 18oC to 26oC. Its vegetation is divided into woods, thickets and fields. Being a sedimentary basin, no river is born within the Pantanal. The main rivers of the Pantanal are the Paraguay, the Cuiabá and their tributaries. The relief has a minimal decline of 0,5 to 1 cm per km North/South, and 0,6 to 2 cm per Km East/West.
