Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival in Lima - City Tour, Visit to the Colonial and Contemporary Zones
Upon arrival, our collaborators will hold a reception and will transfer you to the hotel. A documentation kit, detailed program explanation plus luggage and hotel registration assistance is offered. In the afternoon, we will take a city tour to the most ranked places of Lima, " The City of the Kings" including the most important architectonic samples of the city, such as the Main Square or Pizarro Square, where you can find the Government Palace, the City Hall, the Cathedral and the Archbishop´s Palace. Later, we continue with a visit to the San Francisco Convent, an architectonic jewel from the 16th century. On our way to the modern zone of the city, we will cross along the exclusive district of San Isidro, new financial heart of the city, to take a look at the Huaca Huallamarca. Finally, we conclude our circuit in Miraflores, where we will visit the Parque del Amor (Love Park), an excellent spot to enjoy a great view of the Pacific Ocean. Back to the hotel, or if you want, we can drop you off at Larcomar´s entertaining center, where you can enjoy a dynamic environment with a beautiful view of the sea and excellent places to have fun, such as coffee shops, restaurants, souvenir and craftmanship stores, jewelry stores, etc. Lodging in Lima.
Day 2 - Lima - Cusco - City Tour Visit to Sacsayhuaman and Nearby Ruins
At the scheduled time, we will transfer to the airport to take the flight to Cusco. Upon arrival in Cusco, there will be a reception from our collaborators and will transfer you to the hotel. The rest of the morning is free to rest and adapt yourself to the high altitude. In the afternoon, we will visit the Imperial City, living example of the mixture of the Andean and Spanish cultures. We will start our trip visiting the Santo Domingo Convent, built over the Koricancha, and ancient Inca Palace and main worship center of the Sun God. Later, we will stop in the Main Square, where you can find the Cathedral and the beautiful Iglesia de la Compañia (Church of the Company). Going on with the trip, we will go up to the Sacsayhuaman Fortress, imposing sample of military inca architecture which domains the city. Finally, we will take a look at the archaeological centers of Qenko, Puca-Pucara and Tambomachay, located on the north east of the city. As a suggestion to mysticism and esoterism lovers, the Sacsayhuaman Complex is an excellent spot to hold meditation sessions. Lodging in Cusco. Meals included: breakfast.
Day 3 - Cusco - Sacred Valley of the Incas - Pisac Market and Ollantaytambo
Excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where you can visit the colorful Pisac Market and appreciate a mixture of color, tradition and people. Located at 31km from Cusco, this town is in the entrance of a valley. We will continue with a tour to Ollantaytambo, with its very narrow streets which have not changed since the Inca’s time. This is the oldest constantly occupied town in America. A buffet lunch will be served in a hacienda restaurant. Lodging in the Sacred Valley. Meals included: breakfast and lunch.
Day 4 - Cusco - Machu Picchu "The Lost City of the Incas"
You will visit one of the most energetic centers in the world: Machu Picchu. The excursion will be by train and during the trip, we will have an amazing view of the landscape of the Sacred Valley of Urubamba. Upon arrival to Aguas Calientes, our collaborators will assist you to board the bus which will take you to the citadel. It will be an unforgettable experience, where a professional tour guide will transmit us the history around this mysterious and charming place. After the guided tour, you will have some free time to explore the zone on your own, relax and meditate. At the scheduled time, we will go down to the Aguas Calientes town. Buffet lunch is included. In the afternoon, you will board the train that will take you back to Cusco. Upon arrival, our collaborators will be waiting in the special station of Poroy, from where we will transfer you to the hotel. This will save you like 40 minutes so you can be more relaxed and will be able to enjoy the nice night life of Cusco. Lodging in Cusco. Meals included: breakfast and lunch.
Day 5 - Cusco - Departure to Puno - Andahyaylillas/Racchi/La Raya
Inca legend speaks of the world beginning on the shores of the vast Titicaca Lake. There, men of hard stone, of windswept grass, and of elemental totora reeds, men that could not feel cold or ever tire lived very close to the sun and under Andean skies of an intense blue found nowhere else on Earth. As time passed, these men, these legends of Puno, took on new colors and danced to ever more vital rhythms and music. Come, breath the pure air, feel the warmth of these people, and more than anything else, get close to a scene of unsurpassed beauty. We will go to the station to ride a special bus taking us to Puno, so you can enjoy the wonderful scenery of the South Valley of Cusco. We will head to the Andahuaylillas town where we will visit a very nice church from the 17th century which has an amazing organ decorated with angels and cherubs. We will continue with a visit to the Ragchi ruins, known as the Temple of God Wiracocha. We will have lunch on the road. We will make a stop in La Raya, natural border between Cusco and Puno, from where we will get excellent photograph views. The arrival to Puno is in the afternoon, then we will transfer to the hotel. Day 6 - Puno - Floating Island of the Uros
In the morning, we will make a trip to Lake Titicaca and pay a first visit to the floating islands of the Uros, also called The Lake Town. These islands are built with totora and are used as home and trade centers for the natives, who use hand-made boats as means of transportation. Free afternoon. We suggest enhancing this experience with an optional visit to Taquile Island. Lodging in Puno. Meals included: breakfast.
Day 7 - Puno - Sillustani Mausoleum and Umayo - Return to Lima
At the scheduled time, we will transfer you to the airport to take the flight to Lima. On the way, we will visit Sillustani, an archaeological site located 34km north of Puno. It has the famous Chullpas, which are funerary towers with circle bases, built of stone. They are 12m tall and were used by the Collas and by the Incas. These ruins are above the Umayo Lake, which increases the beauty of this mystic and wonderful place. Upon arrival, our collaborators will welcome you and will transfer you to the hotel. Day 8 - Lima - International Departure
At the scheduled time, we will transfer you to the airport to take the flight to Lima. Upon arrival, we will provide assistance and connection to your international departure flight. Meals included: breakfast.
