HORSEBACK RIDING TO ARENAL VOLCANO
With our healthy and well trained horses, we start this incredible guided tour, from the hotel for 3
hours, crossing rivers and through the trails in the rain forest, enjoying all the views of the San Carlos
plains, and the amazing lava paths of the majestic Arenal Volcano. We can see also, monkeys, birds
like toucans, turkeys, hawks, falcons etc. Lunch will be served at the hotel.HIKING TOUR TO ARENAL VOLCANO
An unique experience, guided hiking tour through the rain forest, to spot monkeys,
and birds, with a lot of explanations about flora, fauna and the volcano history.
This hike will be during 2 hours, around a loop. After that, we will take the bus, to
go to the west side of the Arenal Volcano, where according to weather conditions;
we can see red lava flows. Lunch will be served at the hotel. CANOPY TOUR
You will enjoy different platforms where you can see the impressive Canyon of the Arenal River and
the extraordinary flora and fauna of the rain forest. You will have the opportunity to see the three
kinds of monkeys that live in this zone, toucans, hummingbird, sloths, etc. Lunch will be served at
the hotel.
ARENAL VOLCANO & HOT SPRINGS
The classically conical shape of Arenal Volcano dominates the rolling plains of
San Carlos, emitting occasional puffs of smoke as it bursts into thunderous
eruption. This tour departs early afternoon, to enjoy the lushness of the
surrounding scenery and the majestic form of Arenal Volcano by the light of
day. We will, however, try to observe, conditions permitting, the Arenal's
impressive eruptions at night, when the lava streams and incandescent rock
explosions resemble an unforgettable fireworks display. We will also visit the
local hot volcanic springs for a swim and will have dinner back at the hotel.

| 7:30 am Pick up at the hotel for the ground & boat transfer to Monteverde by Lake Arenal.
ARENAL MONTEVERDE BY LAKE ARENAL
This service, half tour – half transfer is a scenic, fast and the newest way to go or come
from La Fortuna (Arenal Volcano Area), to the Monteverde area. Around 7:30 a.m. we
start picking everybody from the hotels in La Fortuna for a 30 minutes microbus drive
to the Arenal Lake Dam. There we will aboard into a very comfortable and safe
pontoon boat for a 30 to 40 minutes (aprox.) ride to Río Chiquito, a little town at the
other side of the lake. Once at Río Chiquito, you leave the boat and make a short break
to strength the legs, after, another 1 ½ hour microbus ride to get to the hotels in the
Monteverde area
11:00 am Estimate arrival to Monteverde. It is important to consider that the check in at the hotel is at 2:00 pm. Room
will be provided at guest’s arrival time subject to availability.

| Day at leisure at the hotel to explore the area on your own, visit the National Park or enjoy the hotel facilities
including the canopy tour (Extra cost) or nature hiking.

Canopy Tour: This trip will guarantee a full range of excitement while in total contact with
one the few transitional forests remaining between the Tropical Dry Forest and the Tropical
Humid Forest in Costa Rica. The complete tour takes approximately 3 hours and consists of
gliding along several platforms connected by steel cables, suspended in the canopy of the
trees. To move from tree to tree we use the best quality pulleys and climbing gear. The height
of the platforms varies from 60 to 132 ft. above the ground. Included: Air conditioned
transportation, equipment, and bilingual guide (English/Spanish). What to Bring: Light
Comfortable clothes, tennis shoes, sun block, insect repellent. Manuel Antonio National Park: (Closed on Mondays) Let an experienced naturalist guide
take you on an informative hike through one of the most beautiful national parks, where the
mountains literary meet the sea and the ecosystem is teeming with land, sea and air
species. This park offers two white sand beaches, a blue ocean and trails leading to great
lookout points. Your guide will teach you about the park’s distinctive plant life and point
out some of the resident fauna, which include 109 mammal species – such as 3 species of
monkeys, agouti, three-toed sloth – and 184 species of birds. Included: Tansportation, soft
drinks, bilingual guide and entrance fee. What to Bring: Suntan lotion (sun block),
swimsuit, and towel, beach sandals, insect repellent, camera, binoculars & hat. |
